One thing that I find very fascinating in web development is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In some ways optimizing a website for search can be quite predictable but in other ways it is a form of art. A well optimized site, in my mind, is art. I enjoy the challenge of optimizing a site for Google front page results with particular keywords. The real challenge comes from keywords or keyword phrases that are most popular. It is not too difficult to get top results with unusual keywords that nobody uses.
I need to take a couple of minutes to talk about Search Engine Optimizaiton (SEO). Of course I am going to use the keywords Jim Bush for this discussion. Now if you use Yahoo search using the keywords Jim Bush, you will see my site at the top. In Google however it is a different story. Let me explain the title you see, “The Coolest Guy on the Planet Jim Bush”, in the browser. Some time ago I came across Brad Falon's site that had the number one spot on Google search for the keywords The Coolest Guy on the Planet and still does to this day (I believe but don't quote me).
